Brian Addison
These drawings, mostly of women, are simply an attempt to take out of life a moment in beauty, stillness and sensuality, something maybe hoped for a remembered. The colours, inspired by flowers, a piece of fabric, the time of year, are to enhance that moment, intensify it and lift it out of the ordinary.
Brian's use of strong lines and bold colours with regard to his medium, are bold and confident and he uses these definite lines to create an image that is arresting. The longer you look at a piece of his work, the more you notice the subtle variations in colour and the sculptural nature of his work.
